Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE has been playing their best soccer of the season as of late and they would need for it to continue in order to make history at Viets Field tonight. The student-athletes did their part, beating Marian 3-0 and helping head coach Rolf Zersen reach a major milestone.
RESULT
Marian – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (7-1-3, 4-0-1 NACC) wasted no time getting the scoring started this evening. Grace Quinn kicked things off just one minute after the opening whistle when she put a rebound from Addison Spilman past the Marian (3-4-2, 2-2-1 NACC) keeper.
- The Sabres did a good job recovering by limiting the Raiders chances but a foul in the box sent Nicole Robb up for the penalty kick which she buried to make it 2-0 just before halftime.
- The Red & White added some insurance in the 55th minute when Jill Ruark connected with Addison Spilman to push the MSOE lead to three.
- Reagan Tompkins and Page Sanchez each played a half and stopped all three Sabres shots that came their way throughout the night for the Raiders seventh win of the year and fifth consecutive shutout.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The win marks the 200th career victory for Raiders head coach Rolf Zersen. He is the first in the program's history to reach that mark and just the third coach in the history of MSOE Athletics to do so.
