Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. – MSOE women's soccer was on the pitch again on Wednesday and looking to get back into the win column after their first tie since 2019. It looked like things were headed that way before a late Lake Forest goal tied the game and sent the Raiders to their second straight stalemate.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Lake Forest – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (1-0-2) played a game outside the state of Texas for the first time this season when they took on regional foe Lake Forest (2-1-1) on Wednesday afternoon. It was a low scoring affair, but the Raiders got the upper hand when Elizabeth Kuhn set up Katie Kuhn for her first goal of the season to make it 1-0 Red & White.
- The Raiders defense did their job in the first half, limiting the Foresters to just two shots in the first 45 minutes, and kept the pace up until the very last few minutes of the game.
- Unfortunately, LFC made a late push, and their efforts were finally rewarded when they sailed one into the back of the MSOE net with just 2:53 left to go. Neither team would find the scoresheet with the time that was remaining, handing the Raiders their second tie of the year.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The tie broke a Raiders streak of six straight wins against the Foresters dating back to September of 2015.
- The Red & White held the advantage in both total shots (11-7) and corner kicks (6-3) this afternoon.
