MONTGOMERY, Ill. – The most anticipated regular season match of the season did not declare a winner as the MSOE men's soccer team tied Aurora University on the road.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
Aurora - 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aurora (10-2-3, 7-0-2 NACC) wanted to set a tone throughout the first half, outshooting MSOE (12-1-2, 8-0-1 NACC) 8-4, only getting two on goal. Despite that, the Raiders scored the lone first half goal as Freddy Comparato took the feed from Danny Aranda just six minutes in.
- Coming out of the break, the Spartans continued firing as two minutes in tied up the match. The Raiders slowed down the Spartans only allowing three more shots off the rest of the second half but allowed one more goal to face a 2-1 deficit. Enzo Bova picked the best time to get his first goal of the season from a pass from Steven Arthur in the final 15 minutes to tie the game at two. Neither side could find the back of the net the rest of the way as the two drew at full-time.
