MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's soccer team celebrated Jimmy Banks the best way possible, putting away Concordia University-Wisconsin in 3-1 victory.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Concordia-Wisconsin - 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The sparks flew early as less than a minute into the game, Lukas Schwenke took the attempted pass out the box from Concordia-Wisconsin (4-7-0, 2-5-0 NACC) right to the back of the net to give MSOE (10-1-1, 6-0-0 NACC) a quick 1-0 lead. Electricity stayed inside Viets Field in the 36th minute when Tanner Cellio perfected a bicycle kick from Nico Picha and Zach Thompson to extend the lead 2-0 heading into the halftime break.
- Just five minutes into the second half, Thompson took the long pass from Ian Frost to blaze past the Falcons defense finding the bottom left corner of the goal to blow away to a 3-0 lead. While the Falcons ruined the shutout with a goal in the 72nd minute, the Raiders held strong the rest of the way to keep the streak going 3-1.
