HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dubuque (0-8-1, 0-2-0 NCHA) had four power play opportunities, but MSOE (4-3-1, 2-4-1 NCHA) killed all four. Before those penalties occurred, Jack Karges kicked off the scoring from Riley Ott for a 1-0 lead after one period.
- The duo of Gramm McCormack and Jackson Hughes was lethal in the second period as the two connected for two goals, one shorthand and one on a power play, extending all the way to a 3-0 lead after two. A goal from the Spartans in the third period cut into the deficit, but Spencer Northway in net was lights out with 24 saves for the victory.
