MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's basketball team outscored #23 Illinois College in the second half in hopes of an upset but comes up just short.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 68
#23 Illinois College - 72
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The three-point shot was the gameplan for each team to begin as MSOE (2-8, 1-4 NACC) held a 17-15 lead with Matus Dopirak knocking down two from behind the arch. Illinois College (10-0, 4-0 Midwest) regained the lead with 13:13 left in the first half, exploding to a 12-point lead heading into the break 44-32.
- The Blueboys held their advantage as the second half began, but the Raiders didn't make it easy as back-to-back baskets from Carson Cordelli squeezed their deficit to four. The Raiders battled down to within three after a basket from Dopirak, but the three-point shooting the Blueboys continued to extend their leads. The Raiders continued not letting up, cutting to down by just two after an and-one layup from Carter. The Blueboys, who only shot 70% from the free-throw line on the day, knocked down two to seal it in the final seconds.
