ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The MSOE men's hockey team used a hot first period to explode past Saint John's University Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSOE (7-5-1, 2-5-1 NCHA) got off to a hot start with a power-play goal from Jacob Bosse connecting from Casey Roepke and Jackson Hughes just four minutes in. By the 13 minutes mark, the Raiders commanded a 4-0 lead with Gramm McCormack, Preston Park, and Seth Benard all finding the back of the net.
• While the scoring slowed down in the second period, Jackson Yee continued to extend the Raider lead 5-0. Austin Schwab was perfect through two periods of play, saving 31 shots at the net on the night as the Raiders took the first game of the series.
