Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's basketball has been close to pulling off a few different upsets this season and went into Wednesday night's contest trying to finally convert against Aurora. Unfortunately, the offensive production dipped in the final frame of play, allowing the Spartans to come back and steal a six point victory inside the Kern Center.
FINAL SCORE
Aurora – 67
MSOE RAIDERS – 61
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (4-16, 3-10 NACC) had a hot hand in the first half and jumped out to an 18-14 lead after the opening ten minutes thanks to ten points from sophomore Nina Perl. Perl would continue to pour it on in the second and finished the first half with 15. The rest of her teammates helped out as well which allowed the Raiders to hold a six point lead over Aurora (17-3, 11-2 NACC) heading into halftime.
- The Spartans wouldn't go down so easily, however. After the Red & White led from the first basket of the game, AU took the lead for the first time with just over four minutes remaining in the third. This was due in large part to four treys while MSOE shot just 26.3 percent in the frame.
- The Raiders still clung to a four point advantage with one quarter left to go but the Spartans offense couldn't be stopped. An 8-0 run and 61.5 percent shooting from the field (8-13) put Aurora up for good with 4:34 left. Free throws down the stretch allowed them to pad their lead as they spoiled the Red & White's upset hopes in a six point loss.

- Freshman Mahima Chokshi was one assist away from breaking into the top five for single game helpers with eight.
