Box Score MILWAUKEE – Facing a major deficit in the first half, the MSOE men's basketball team saw a near second half comeback fall just short to Marian on Tuesday inside the Kern Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a dominant start for Marian (12-9, 10-4 NACC), extending a 29-11 lead midway through the first half. MSOE (9-12, 5-9 NACC) slowly cut their deficit through the remainder of the first half with the help of both Donovan Carter and Mason Dopirak as they went into the break down 37-26.
- The Raiders kept steadily breaking into the deficit possession by possession at the start of the second half, locking down their defense. With 13:12 left to play, Carter made a jumper while fouled, hitting the free throw to get within just a point, as Dopirak made a jump shot of his own on the next possession to take the lead for the first time in the game.
- It became a steady back-and-forth battle for the rest of the way as neither team could get more than a possession ahead. Down three with just under a minute to play, Mason Accidentale made a clutch three-pointer to tie the game at 69. The Sabres would make a jumper with 4 seconds to play, before Carter was fouled on the inbounds play to get two free throws to hopefully tie the game back up. Unfortunately, a miss on the second attempt would be the end of what was a near comeback for the Red & White.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders won the turnover battle, only having seven mistakes while forcing 13 turnovers from the Sabres.
- MSOE used foul trouble to their advantage in the second half, as the Sabres had 19 personal fouls in the game while the Raiders only has 12.
