WAUWATOSA, Wis. – MSOE softball hit the field 24 hours after a 35 run day against Alverno to try and do the same thing against Wisconsin Lutheran. The Raiders bats refused to slow down and helped them secure the "Milwaukee Sweep" with another two wins on Sunday in Tosa.
RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 13
Wisconsin Lutheran – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 7
Wisconsin Lutheran – 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- MSOE (21-9, 13-3 NACC) picked up where they left off yesterday with a 13 run first game performance against in-town rival Wisconsin Lutheran (9-19, 2-12 NACC).
- The Raiders did most of their damage in the first two innings with 12 combined runs. Morgan Long opened up the scoring with a two-run double in the first and did the same thing in the second with an RBI single that also brought in a pair. Celine Pacheco and Caroline Fouras also had multiple ribbies while Adeline Kortman closed out the Red & White action with a base knock in the fourth that drove in Jenna O'Donnell.
- Kennedy Lehn turned in one of her most dominant performances of the season, allowing just one hit and striking out six in a complete game shutout to help MSOE take game one 13-0.
- Game Two
- The Raiders kept the momentum going in the second game of the afternoon with Pacheco and Fouras plating three runs for the Raiders. However, that wouldn't be enough as the Warriors would eventually get their bats going.
- With that said, the game winning run was pushed across when Grace Salaja tripled to score two and then came around to cross home herself on a wild pitch.
- WLC netted one in the sixth and three in the seventh but Sarah Grossman stopped them from going any further to get her seventh win of the season in a three run victory to complete the sweep.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders have now won three straight against their crosstown rivals with two of those wins being shutouts.
