MONTGOMERY, Ill. – MSOE men's lacrosse knew that they would need to be on top of their game against the best team in the NACC on Saturday. Aurora was all that stood in the Raiders way of clinching a playoff spot, but the Raiders couldn't slow the Spartans down in a 16-4 loss that ended their 2023 season on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (8-7, 5-3 NACC) went down quickly 1-0 but tied things up just a few minutes later when Jake Tralongo netted the first Raiders goal at 8:35 in the opening quarter. The tie wouldn't last long, however. Aurora (13-4, 8-0) proceeded to score six out of the next seven goals to lead 7-2 with a little less than half the game to play.
- Tanner Whipps' man-up goal at 10:16 in the third gave the Red & White a chance to spark a comeback but the Spartans were right there to close the door again.
- Aurora would score to make it 8-3 and then went on an 8-0 run to negate another Raiders man-up goal, this time by Riley Woyatas, to secure the 16-4 victory.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders finished in a two way tie for fourth place at 5-3 but will be on the outside looking in when it comes to the NACC tournament. Their loss to Benedictine last week sealed their fate and they'll finish the 2023 season with an overall record of 8-7.
