Raiders Cruise Past Muskies on Senior Day

GLENDALE, Wis. – Celebrating it's seniors on a rainy day at MSOE Raiders Stadium, the MSOE baseball team cruises past Lakeland University with a shutout run-rule in game one while holding onto a high scoring game two.

RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 10
Lakeland – 0

MSOE RAIDERS – 11
Lakeland - 8

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • Discipline was shown immediately by MSOE (20-12, 12-8 NACC) as they loaded the bases on two walks and a hit by pitch. A single into right field by Jack Kalitowski brought two runs in, followed by a double by Sam Meidenbauer made the game 3-0 after an inning of play. Another three runs came the following from both Collin Truitt and Meidenbauer, opening the game up 6-0.
    • The Raiders continued to add insurance scoring four more runs over the next six innings, but it was not needed at all with how the pitching staff played in game one. Caden Morton got the start and pitched six innings, only allowing three hits, and had five strikeouts. Peyton Barr came in for relief the final two innings and grabbed two punchouts as well.
  • Game Two
    • A hot start for the Raiders came in game two as well as they loaded to bases leading to a five run first inning. Unlike like game one however, Lakeland (6-25, 4-14 NACC) didn't back down and got to with one midway through the fourth inning. After the Muskies almost had the bottom half wrapped up, the Raiders tacked on four run to help sit comfortably again leading 9-4 after four innings of play.
    • The Raiders allowed two more three more runs from the Muskies but kept their scoring coming from extra base hits from Meidenbauer and Kyle Labedz to continue their lead. Chris Barnes moved over from first base to the mound in the top of the fifth and to get the save for the Raiders, striking out six and only allowing two hits.
RAIDER REMARKS
  • The Raiders might have some bump and bruises after today's game as they were a total of seven times in the two games, including six in game one.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES WHO'S ON DECK
