HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- An intense pitchers' duel began the day as both MSOE (11-7, 4-2 NACC) and Concordia Wisconsin (16-3, 5-0 NACC) had their aces in the circle.
- The Raiders broke through first however when Celine Pacheco earned a based loaded walk that pushed Faith Matta across after she reached on an error to begin the fourth inning.
- Unfortunately, one run wasn't going to be enough to net the victory. A two run double from the Falcons in the bottom of the sixth gave CUW their first lead of the day. The opposition were then able to strand two Red & White baserunners in the next half inning to take the game 2-1.
- Game Two
- The Raiders bats were active in the second game in Mequon, but the Red & White had a hard time getting any runner to touch home plate.
- MSOE left players on base in all but two frames, including two in the fourth and three in the sixth. On the other side the of field, CUW used their 10 hits to push across six runs, including what proved to be the game winner in the second.
- Sarah Grossman went the distance and struck out six, but the lack of run support led to a 6-0 defeat.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders haven't been able to solve the Falcons lately and have dropped four out of their last five games against their competitors to the North.
- The Red & White left a total of 15 base runners stranded in the two games.
