PLYMOUTH, Wis. – While the opportunities were few, the MSOE men's soccer team kept their streak going up at Lakeland University Wednesday night in a 1-0 victory over the Muskies.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Lakeland - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither side could create anything offensively as the first half proved to be a defensive battle. MSOE (6-1-1, 2-0 NACC) had six corner kick opportunities in the first half but didn't get any shots on goal, while Lakeland (2-4-1, 1-2 NACC) had two attempts on goal, but were denied by Asher Harris in net. The two went into the break, deadlocked at zero.
- While the first half saw light action, the second half saw a burst of energy quickly as a foul in the box gave Freddy Comparato a penalty kick opportunity just two minutes in, sinking it through the right side to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead. The Raiders controlled the game from there, keeping the ball on their attacking side not letting the Muskies have a good opportunity the rest of the way, keeping them scoreless and giving them the victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders pick up their fourth straight victory over the Muskies, dating back to the 2021 spring season. The two split meetings that season with the victory coming in a 2-0 win at home.
