RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The MSOE women's basketball team hosted the Eagles of Edgewood College on Saturday, with both teams entering the game as the cream of the crop in the NACC. The Eagles shooting was too much for the Raiders to overcome, and despite a big push in the third quarter, a flurry of late threes put the game out of reach for MSOE, 64-49.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (10-5, 4-2 NACC) and CUC (7-8, 6-0 NACC) traded baskets to open the contest, with the Eagles hitting back-to-back threes to take the lead. The Eagles would control the lead the whole first quarter, increasing it to as much as eight points. Skylar Flanagan would begin to turn the momentum in favor of the Raiders after being fouled on a three-point shot with seconds left and hitting two of the three free throws to close the first quarter 23-17 in favor of the Eagles.
- The Raiders struggled against the Eagles physical defense in the second quarter but held Edgewood to just six points before the half. The Raiders would eventually find some success on offense, utilizing the pick and roll with Dani Mendez and Mahima Chokshi to bring the score to 29-25 at the break.
- Mendez would score the first five points coming out of the break to give the Raiders a 30-29 lead, their first since the opening basket. The Eagles took the lead right back before Nicole Levine tied the game back up with a three, but the Eagles responded by going on a 10-0 run. Nina Perl hit a buzzer beating layup through contact for the Raiders to end the third quarter trailing by just four points, 45-41.
- The Eagles would catch fire from deep at just the right time to keep the Raiders from clawing back into the contest, and the Raiders would fall 64-49.
