HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (9-3, 3-0 NACC) and Rockford (4-8, 0-3 NACC) traded jumpers to open the contest, until a Regent three pointer gave the lead and momentum to Rockford. The Regents would go on a 12-4 run, and at the end of the first quarter the Raiders found themselves trailing 23-15.
- MSOE came out of the first break with renewed focus, and outscored the Regents 15-3 in the second quarter, with Rockford's only basket coming with eight seconds left in the half. Nina Perl led the charge on the offensive end of the run, scoring almost half the Raiders points in the second quarter.
- Both teams traded blows the entire third quarter and entered the final period with a score of 44-37 in favor of the Raiders. After a nearly 15-minute delay due to a medical stoppage for a spectator, the Regents stormed back into the contest and tied the game up at 47 apiece. The Raiders turned to Mahima Chokshi once again, and she delivered, scoring six of the last nine Raider points, including the big three that put the game out of reach for Rockford.
