ANGOLA, Ind. – Despite a defense that limited the attempts for #9 Trine University, the MSOE men's hockey team came up short late to start their weekend series over the Thunder.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trine (6-0-1, 4-0-1 NCHA) had few opportunities in the first period, only getting four shots on goal compared to MSOE (2-4-1, 2-3-0 NCHA) getting seven. Midway through, the Thunder connected on one for the first strike of the and the 1-0 lead after one. Into the second period, the Thunder had hopes of running away striking midway through again, but late in the period, Preston Park redirected a shot from Adam Smith to cut the deficit 2-1 after two.
- Late in the third as thing started getting tighter and tighter, Ryan Reid swung down the right side of the ice wide as he fired back middle to Casey Roepke to tie up the game late at two. Continuing to attack the Thunder, they attacked right back on the Red & White defense scoring just over a minute to retake the lead and relinquish it again.
