MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's hockey team hosted the Thunder of Trine University on Friday night, as the Raiders fell 4-1 after a late barrage of goals from the visitors in the third period.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Trine University - 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first period, Trine (2-2-1, 2-2-1 NCHA) was able to get on the board first, taking advantage of an MSOE turnover on the power play, as the Thunder went up 1-0 on a short-handed goal. MSOE (2-5-0, 1-4-0 NCHA) struck out on the powerplay all evening, going 0-for-6 with just five shots in over 11 minutes with the advantage.
- The Raiders would finally knot things up coming out of the third period when Maddie Williams netted an unassisted goal, beating the Thunder goalie and getting the Raiders right back in the game just three minutes into the period. Unfortunately, Trine would net the game-winning goal at the 17:01 mark of the third period and after a couple of insurance goals less than a minute apart, the Thunder found themselves the victors after outshooting the Red and White 38 to 23 across the contest.
