LISLE, Ill. – Making a charge in the second half, the MSOE men's basketball season comes to an end by the hands of Benedictine University in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Quarterfinals.
FINAL SCORE
No. 6 MSOE RAIDERS – 58
No. 3 Benedictine - 69
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A minute-23 ran off the clock until the game broke scoreless when a three-pointer from Carson Cordelli gave MSOE (12-14, 9-9 NACC) the first strike. Benedictine (16-10, 12-6 NACC) held the advantage the vast majority of the first half with a layup from Cordelli and free throws from Donovan Carter flipping the lead change back over occasionally as the Raiders went into the break in a low scoring 32-26 first half.
- The Raiders matched the Eagles scoring as the second half began until a 10-2 run sprung them back into the lead capped by a steal from Chase Cummings feeding a Cordelli fast-break layup. A jumper from Carter minutes later gave their largest lead of the night 45-41 but was erased just a minute later as the Eagles retook the lead with ten minutes to play. From there on, the Eagles never relinquished their lead, putting an end to the Raiders season 69-58.
