The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) has announced its major awards and all-conference team for the 2023-2024 women's basketball season. MSOE women's basketball was represented by sophomore
Mahima Chokshi earning a spot on the All-NACC 2
nd Team, while freshmen
Halena Hill and
Dani Mendez were both honorable mentions.
Coming off a freshmen season that saw her named All-NACC honorable mention, Chokshi had a great sophomore campaign for the Raiders increasing her scoring from 9.8 points per game to 11.5. Chokshi also nearly double her steal total from last season, improving from 33 to 59 takeaways. Chokshi also led the team in assists and minutes played as the Raiders more than doubled their win total from a year ago, going from seven wins last season to eighteen wins this season.
Freshmen
Halena Hill and
Dani Mendez were both voted honorable mentions in their debut seasons with the Raiders. Hill was a versatile scoring threat for MSOE, averaging 12.3 ppg along while shooting 31.9% from beyond the arc, including three 20+ point performances. Mendez proved to be a difference maker in the paint for the Raiders, averaging 10 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 47.2% from the field. The freshmen duo combined for 51 starts and 1,386 minutes played.
The Raiders finished 18-8 this season, with a 12-4 record in conference play, finishing 4
th in the NACC, before dropping a heartbreaker in the opening round of the NACC Tournament against Aurora.
