HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vs Juniata College
- Juniata got on the board early after some savvy baserunning gave the Eagles a one run lead after the first inning. MSOE would find a spark at the plate in the third inning, as Sadie Gaberell was hit by a pitch before Jenna O'Donnell tripled to left field to bring her teammate home. After a Faith Matta single, Alyssa Jacobson doubled to bring in another run and give the Raiders a 2-1 lead.
- The Raiders would add another run in the fourth after a Jocelyn Clodi double scored Carlee Emery to increase the Raider's lead. The Eagles would mount a comeback in the fifth, after opening the inning with back-to-back base hits. The Raiders found themselves in a high-leverage, bases-loaded, 2-out scenario as the Eagles singled and took advantage of an MSOE error to take a 4-3 lead.
- Trailing 5-3, the Raiders Jayda Nelson reached on an error hoping to spark a rally that was extinguished by a timely double play by the Eagles. The Raiders hoped for some magic in the top of the seventh with two outs after an O'Donnell single, but the Eagles held on to hand the Raiders a 5-3 loss.
- Vs Susquehanna
- The Raiders got off to a quick start in an effort to bounce back, as Matta lead off with a single and swiped a base to get in scoring position out of the gate. Jacobsen brought her home with a base hit before advancing all the way to third on fielding errors by the Rams. Jenna Trewyn would give the Raiders a 2-0 lead after a sacrifice fly.
- After the Rams hung four runs on the Raiders in the top of the second, the Raiders responded by immediately wrestling the lead back. Celine Pacheco doubled to kick start the comeback before advancing to third on a wild pitch. After Clodi reached on a walk, Gaberell would clear the bases and tie the game up with a timely triple. A Trewyn single would bring Gaberell home as the Raiders retook the lead.
- After the Rams tied the game up at 5-5, the Raiders remained focused on bringing home a win. Emery scored off another Gaberell hit, and after the Rams accuracy woes on the mound continued, Pacheco came around to score on a wild pitch. MSOE would settle down on the mound, as Katie Pollock gave up one earned run in three innings of relief as the Raiders hung on for the 9-6 win.
