MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's volleyball didn't play around hosting one of the top teams in the conference Saturday afternoon, sweeping Benedictine University.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Benedictine - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- No side set a clear edge until MSOE (10-8, 6-2 NACC) went on a 10-2 run after a kill from Seth Thomas to take a 15-9 midway through the first set. Benedictine (12-9, 7-2 NACC) kept things tight beginning to trade points back and forth until the Raiders ran away at the end on a 5-2 run as Callan Harris ended the set, winning 25-19.
- The Eagles couldn't get anything to go their way as set two began, committing multiple errors as the Raiders led as large as 11 at one point. They slowly found their way back into the set late cutting their deficit to 22-16 until Carter Shavitz killed two of the final three points for the Raiders for the 25-17 set two win. The Raider offense began to heat up as set three started, building a 17-7 lead. The Eagles never created a real run the whole set, allowing the Red & White to easily finish them off 25-14.
