MEQUON, Wis. – The MSOE women's lacrosse team picked up their programs first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) win Saturday afternoon in a back and forth battle with Concordia University Wisconsin.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 8
Concordia Wisconsin - 7
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The host school didn't waste time to play with a lead scoring, taking a two-goal lead in the first five minutes. MSOE (3-5, 1-1 NACC) eventually took a 3-2 lead thanks to two goals for Joce Katte and Vayda Flower taking advantage of a man-up situation take the momentum into the second. Concordia Wisconsin (4-8, 0-3 NACC) didn't want things to get out of hand, tacking on two more to take the lead until Lilly Johnson tied things up with five minutes left in the half to have things deadlocked at the break.
- The Raiders continued to take advantage of man-up opportunities as Maggie Sanderson and Johnson connected on one themselves for a 6-5 lead after three quarters of play. After the Falcons tied things up just minutes into the fourth beginning, the Raiders made a statement with two quick goals from Johnson and Sanderson hoping to put them away. Just one more goal from the Falcons would go past Megan Lacina as they finished off the win.
