MILWAUKEE – A quick first quarter lead for the MSOE women's lacrosse team didn't last long as Hamline University put the Raiders away with ease.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 5
Hamline - 16
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vayda Flower kicked things off quickly for MSOE (3-6, 1-1 NACC) with two straight goals back-to-back before Hamline (6-6, 0-2 MLC) jump onto the scoreboard not too far after on a free position. Joce Katte extended the Raiders lead midway through the first quarter and a timeout from the Pipers gave them the reset they needed as by the end of the quarter; they held a 4-3 lead.
- The Pipers continued to extend their lead into the second quarter, leading as large as 9-3. Lilly Johnson took advantage of a man-up situation late in the first half to head into the break down 9-4. The Pipers didn't let once the second half began, shutting out the Raiders in the third quarter and a vast majority of the fourth. Emily Runey stepped in for a free-position attempt and sailed it past the goalie for her third goal of the season, but the Pipers continued to tack onto their lead.
