MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Aurora - 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aurora (16-9, 11-1 NACC) opened with an impressive start on a 10-3 run. After a MSOE (13-10, 9-3 NACC) timeout, the Raiders developed rhythm and got the set within two after a service ace from Tommy Clausz. The Spartans were lights out from then on, not allowing the Raiders get a single point to cruise to a 25-15 set one win.
- The Raiders kept things manageable in set two having a 12-10 lead midway through after a kill from Callan Harris and an ace from Clausz. The Spartans eventually stole the set late after the Raiders had set point, winning 27-25 to go up 2-0.
- Similar shades of the previous set shined through to set three and the sides went back and forth before the Raiders took a 19-15 lead after a kill from Carter Shavitz. The Spartans never had a full chance of putting a run on late as Matthew Schultz ended the set 25-20 to continue the match. Unfortunately, the Raiders couldn't stop the Spartans after the took the early lead in the set four, 25-22, to fall short.
