WHEATON, Ill. - MSOE women's tennis opened their 2024-25 season with a trip to Wheaton, Ill. to take on the Wheaton College Thunder and the Lake Forest College Foresters at the Wheaton Invite. The Raiders battled in both contests but were unable to keep pace with the competition and fell to 0-2 to open the season. This season the scoring for college tennis has changed, doubles play now counts as a single result in the team total.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. Wheaton
- MSOE (0-2) got their season underway this past Friday at Wheaton (1-0), but unfortunately for the Raiders, the Thunder brought their A-game. Karley Way and Gabrielle Haensgen were the only Raiders to capture a game against Wheaton, falling 6-2 in their doubles set as the Thunder shut down MSOE 7-0.
- vs. Lake Forest
- The Red & White looked back on track on Saturday against the Foresters (1-0), with a better doubles outing than the day prior, but Lake Forest held the Raiders in check across all three matches to capture the doubles point.
- MSOE would fall to Lake Forest across all six singles matches, despite a tremendous fight from fresh faces Elizabeth Butargabe and Keely Nelson.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will look to capture their first win next week, when they head to River Forest, Ill. for a clash with Concordia University Chicago on September 7
th. First serve is set for at 10:00AM
