KENOSHA, Wis. – Wrapping up one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country, the MSOE men's soccer team behind a
Lukas Schwenke goal secures it's first win of the season down at Carthage College.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Carthage - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The home squad got the first opportunity of the game that sailed high before MSOE (1-1-4, 0-0-0 NACC) got the next three opportunities, all being saved. But just minutes later, Tanner Cellio found Schwenke to put one past the Carthage (3-2-1, 0-0-0 CCIW) goalkeeper for the 1-0 lead. The Raider offense continued to put pressure as the Firebirds didn't record a shot until just second before the time break, holding their advantage at half.
- The Firebirds had many opportunities to begin the second half with three straight corner kicks and a shot on goal but couldn't put anything past Asher Harris. After the Raiders had corner kick opportunities of their own, the defense continued to fend off the Firebird offense to keep the shut out alive through full-time.
