HOW IT HAPPENED
  • vs. Maranatha Baptist
    • After a slow start for the home squad, a miscue from Maranatha Baptist (0-15, 0-0 DIII Independent) with a service error sparked an 8-0 run that was half fueled by kills from Abby Balkema. Just a few points later, Emma Schattschneider and Ava Larson each teamed up for a 10-1 run to give the Raiders a 25-8 set one win.
    • Despite new faces taking the court, the same outcomes were appearing as Brooke Fledderman kicked off the set with one of her eight service aces on the match as they took a 9-2 lead early. The service line continued to benefit the Raiders as back-to-back ones from Nina De La Cruz followed by a kill from Sydney Emineth grew their lead 16-4. After the Sabercats finally put together a string of points together, a Ashley Murphy kill put the momentum fully into the side of the Red & White as they rolled away with a 25-10 set two win.
    • After an error from the Sabercats to start, Murphy from the service line caught fire, recording three-straight service aces for a quick 4-0 lead. That was just the start from there, as Fledderman successfully record four more service aces in the middle of an 8-0 run to extend their lead up to 13-2. The Sabercats slowly trickled in points of their own until the lead was too large, and Fledderman ended things fittingly on a service ace to win 25-14.
  • vs. Mount Mary
    • Schattschneider put on a show to begin the match, rattling off the first three kills. Olivia Bartels added back-to-back service aces for an 11-3 lead, before the lead just continue to grow after Mount Mary (3-12, 0-0 CAC) errors continued to flow in as they ran away with a 25-11 set one win.
    • The Blue Angels didn't make these easy for the Raiders in the second set, taking the short advantage early on 5-4. The Raiders offense began to go on a heater, recording kills and service aces on six of their next seven points. The Blue Angels continued to gift the Raiders more points as they took the set again 25-11.
    • After Bartels continued to be dominant at the service line to give the Raiders a 9-3 lead in the third set, the Blue Angels halted their momentum and cut to within in 12-10. The Raiders slowly regained a healthy advantage before Madalynn Skwarek added two more aces to help aid the runaway, winning 25-15.
