HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (2-11-2, 1-5-2 NCHA) went to the powerplay less than four minutes into the game after a tripping penalty was assessed against the Bennies (7-3-3). Both MaryFrancis Williams and Lexi Jackson saw their shots get blocked as the Red and White were unable to convert on their first powerplay opportunity. St. Benedict would go up 1-0 at the 11:53 mark of the first period, but the Raiders would once again draw a powerplay with five minutes to go in the frame. After the Bennies stifled the Red and White once more, the first period came to a close with the Raiders trailing by just a single goal.
- St. Benedict would go up 2-0 five minutes into the second period on an even strength goal, as the Bennies defense held MSOE to only three shots in the second frame. St. Benedict would record their third goal of the game just a minute and twenty-five seconds into the third period before recording three goals in a four minute span to send the Red and White back to Milwaukee with a 6-0 defeat, despite MSOE nearly breaking the shutout on a Lilo Emerson shot as time ran out on the clock. The Raiders will look to end their winless streak in front of their home fans, as MSOE heads home for their first game at the Kern Center since November 23rd.
