WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – In the inaugural year of the Tampa College Hockey Invitational, the MSOE men's hockey finished victorious as they shut out Suffolk University Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both offenses were slow to begin with Suffolk (7-5-2, 3-4-1 College of New England) winning the shot total 9-5, as it was scoreless after one period of play. It wasn't until early in the second when Charlie Skinner took the rebound from a shot from Brennan Dickey that opened the scoring for MSOE (5-7-1, 2-6-0 NCHA), making it was 1-0 game. Late in the period as the teams were playing four-versus-four, Rylan Jockims took it coast-to-coast to extend the lead to two heading into the second break.
• The intensity began to flare as the Rams tried to reel things in and the Raiders look to put things on ice. Two roughing penalties that cancelled each other out as the tempered flared led to things staying tight and the Rams needing to pull their goalie with two minutes remaining. After a faceoff won by Carson Jones, Ethan Mann put the final nail in the coffin from the blue line to seal it.

WHO'S ON DECK
