HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lakeland (9-13, 3-3 NACC) came out firing to begin the match, stretching a lead as large as 12-4 to start before MSOE (4-16, 2-4 NACC) could cut it to within eight after a kill from Katie Moser. A pair of errors from the Muskies and dump from Morgan Borchardt brought them to their smallest of seven until the final three points fell to drop the set 25-14. Ashley Murphy was able to catch fire to begin set two, nailing four kills to give the Raiders a 7-2 lead to begin. Katie Taticek put herself in the mix, getting three kills over the course of the set as the Raiders took the set 25-15 to tie it at a set a piece.
- After a pair of runaway sets, the two sides were nearly dead even throughout the third, as the largest lead a team took was at 16-12 with the Muskies having the advantage. An ace from Natalie Martinez and a kill from Brenna Fledderman brought it to within one before the Muskies pulled away in the final two points to take it 25-21. The Muskies established themselves in the driver's seat in the fourth set, going on a 9-0 run midway through and then another 6-0 run to seal it, 25-8.
