HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (2-2-0, 1-0-0 NCHA) needed little time to get ahead of Lawrence (0-5-0, 0-1-0 NCHA) as Emily Reiner stripped the opening faceoff away from the Vikings and rushed towards the net, juking out the goaltender to put the Raiders up 1-0 just sixteen seconds into their home opener. The Raiders would add their second goal of the game a mere three minutes later, as Hannah Baumann added a powerplay goal to the scoreboard thanks to assists from MaryFrancis Williams and Amy MacDonald.
- The Raiders and Vikings would remain scoreless through the rest of the first period and through nineteen minutes of the second, until Gabi Heuser broke the drought with another powerplay goal for the Red and White, with just under a minute to play in the period. Seeking the first shutout win in program history, Jenna Kent turned away all 22 shots she faced in her first start of the 2025-26 season. Sara Kopf added a short-handed, empty-net goal on a shot that went nearly the length of the ice, to cap of the historic win for the program as they completed the weekend sweep of the Vikings
