ALLENDALE, Mich. – Multiple records were shattered over the weekend as the MSOE men's track & field team competed at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet.

RECAP
- On Friday, multiple records fell, starting off with Xander Gottner in the 5,000-meter run going 14:56.50. He shatters his own school record of 15:06.51 that he set a year ago and going under 15 minutes for the first time in his career, indoor or outdoor. Nolan Pinion also went under the previous record, running 15:02.27. AJ Springer also shaved time off his 800-meter record that he set last week, running 1:52.76 seconds. He now sits 11thnationally in the event. Adam Shaw shattered two school records on the weekend, first in the mile run where he finished fourth overall in 4:11.47 and then on Saturday where he won the 3,000-meter run in 8:25.71.
- Evan Ploeckelman finished fifth overall in the 60-meter dash, running 6.98 seconds, just .01 off his season best this season. He added a tenth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, running 22.53 seconds. In the field events, Daniel Geerts finished fifth in the high jump, leaping 1.88 meters, clearing his opening height. Thomas Kiefer finished eighth in the pole vault, going 4.35 meters clearing both 4.20 meters and 4.35. Spencer Davis took seventh in the weight throw, tossing 16.68 meters, while Ethan Wrasman took ninth with a mark of 16.49 meters.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders now put their focus to the conference championship in two weeks, held in Racine at University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Action is set to begin on Friday, February 28
th with a major of the action the following day on March 1
st.
