DE PERE, Wis. – The offensive efficiency from the MSOE men's basketball team wasn't enough to get past St. Norbert College on the road Wednesday night. The Raiders shot 46.4% from the floor, along with 48.1% from three and 93.8% from the free-throw line but couldn't control the paint against the Green Knights.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 80
St. Norbert - 82
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Norbert (15-6, 11-3 NACC) went on an explosion to begin, opening on a 5-0 run before MSOE (13-7, 9-4 NACC) knocked in their first point when Donovan Carter buried a three. The Green Knights look to go into cruise control early after taking a ten-point lead seven minutes in, but midway through the Raiders stormed back to take a 23-22 lead after Isaac Wit hit two free-throws. The Raiders continued to press on the gas as Carter and Mason Dopirak hit back-to-back three-pointers to make it a six-point game, but the Green Knights closed on a massive run to have a 41-36 lead at the break.
- Carter made it a one man show coming out of the break, as he scored the first ten points for the Red & White but was the answered by the Green Knights on nearly every possession as it was only cut to a two-point game 48-46. Just like the first half, the Green Knights put together a double-digit lead midway through, but as minutes ticked down, the Raiders made things a game when Witt tied things up at 68 with four minutes to play. The next two possessions for the Green Knights were pivotal as they gave them the cushion they needed to end the Raiders' run.
