FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 52
Aurora - 49
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Aurora (14-6, 8-4 NACC) hit the ground running early, opening on a 7-0 before Elly Kohl could throw an axe into it, nailing a three-pointer three minutes in. Jumpers from Lana Kerley and Chokshi tied the game up at seven, but the Spartans closed the first quarter on a long run to take a 19-14 lead. The defenses came to play in the second quarter as the two teams combined for 13 points as MSOE (12-9, 8-4 NACC) cut the deficit to two at the break, 24-22.
- The Spartans took a six-point lead after a three-pointer two minutes in, but the Raider offense started to come alive after that. After Chokshi connected from the mid-range to tie the game at 32, Kerley corralled an offensive board for layup to take their first lead with 2:32 left in the third. The Raiders lead became as large as seven after Chokshi knocked in a free-throw with 6:12 remaining in the game, but the Spartans started chipping away as the Kern Center crowd began to rock. Chokshi drew a massive offensive foul with 30 seconds remaining that essentially sealed it for the Raiders.
