MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's hockey team closed out their series with the Aurora University Spartans on Saturday night, with the Raiders falling 6-0 in a penalty-ridden contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSOE (4-17-2, 3-11-2 NCHA) went on the powerplay just 3:43 into the game after an Aurora (7-13-3, 6-6-2 NCHA) cross-checking penalty.  Both Lilo Emerson and Anika Einbeck would get shots off but saw them saved by the Spartan goalie.  After killing off the penalty, Aurora would strike first at the 6:09 mark of the first period, followed up by another at the 10:48 mark for the 2-0 lead in favor of the visitors.  The Spartans would keep their pace as they added a third goal around four minutes later, and a fourth, as the Raiders went into the first intermission trailing 4-0.
• The Raiders would keep the Spartans off the scoreboard in the second period, but were unable to find the back of the net themselves as Aurora maintained their four-goal lead heading into the final frame.  The Raiders would be outshot by the Spartans 17-4 in the final 20 minutes, as untimely penalties would halt the MSOE momentum in its tracks.  Allison Hillary and Sara Kopf were nearly able to get the Red and White on the scoreboard, but MSOE would be shutout as the Spartans completed the weekend sweep.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will host their final home game of their historic first season on Friday, February 14^th when they celebrate Senior Day against Lake Forest College.  Game time is 7:00 P.M.
