HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (2-1) finally got on the board first, as Cole Karst scored his second goal of the season to put MSOE ahead of Carroll (3-1) early. The Pioneers would respond and go up 2-1 in the first quarter with less than two minutes to go, but Graden Jansen won the ensuing faceoff and took the rock himself, firing a shot that would tie the game up as MSOE and Carroll ended the first quarter knotted up at 2-2. To start the second frame, the Pioneers would get flagged for unnecessary roughing and the Raiders would take advantage as Jack Civottolo found Case Roberts for the man-up goal. After the Pioneers regained the lead, Luke Neal recorded his first goal of the season with just under three minutes left in the half, as both teams went to the break tied up once more at 4-4.
- As the Raiders and Pioneers continued to trade leads and ties, Soren Savard would put the Raiders up 6-5 with just 12 second left in the third quarter. Alex Lo would take his game to another level in the fourth quarter, keeping the Pioneers off the scoreboard, as the Raiders ran away with the game. Dawson Smith would secure a hat trick by the midway point of the fourth as the Raiders built their lead on seven unanswered goals, capped off by Roberts as the Raiders ran away with the 12-5 victory.
