MENOMONIE, Wis. – The MSOE women's lacrosse team traveled all the way up to take on University of Wisconsin-Stout Saturday afternoon. After the Blue Devils made a run late in the second period to take a comfortable, the Raiders closed in the final period to erase it but came up short in doing so.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (0-3, 0-0 NACC) got things started in a hurry as Vayda Flower and Lilly Johnson put one in the back of the net nearly five minutes in to take a 2-0 advantage. Wisconsin-Stout (1-0, 0-0 WIAC) didn't shy away and took a 3-2 lead at the end of the first period. Maggie Sanderson tied it up after a feed from Johnson just 1:41 into the second period, but the Blue Devils closed on a four-goal run to have a 7-3 lead at the break.
- The two sides traded goals with Johnson adding two and Ashlyn Bode putting one in to make it 10-6. Bode added her second goal of the game to cut it to three before the Blue Devils added two more to extend their lead 12-7. Joce Katte helped lead a charge of four unanswered goals the rest of the way to bring their margin to just one, but ran out of time to complete it.
