APPLETON, Wis. – As the regular season winding down and battles for conference tournament spots, the MSOE women's lacrosse team dismantled Lawrence University on the road, shutting them out for over three quarters.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 16
Lawrence - 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lilly Johnson did her job to give MSOE (3-11, 3-4 NACC) the early edge, scoring 1:03 into the game and then feeding Anika Einbeck 29 seconds later for a quick 2-0 lead. Joce Katte and Alana Perry added goals five minutes later before Chloe Ninmann added two straight with Vayda Flower capping off the first quarter for 7-0 advantage.
- Perry kept things rolling with a man-down goal to begin the second before Ashlyn Bode added her first of the day and Paige Calderone scoring her first goal of her career to make it 10-0 midway through. Ninmann closed the first half with two more goals to give the Red & White a 12-0 lead at the break.
- The scoring slowed down in the second half as only Flower could put one in the back of the net. After Einbeck scored her second of the day early in the fourth, Lawrence (1-10, 0-7 NACC) finally got on the board with a free position shot. Johnson and Einbeck continued to not look back to add to the Raiders' total to seal the deal.
