DE PERE, Wis. – In a two-day battle down to the final event, the MSOE men's track & field team finished second overall at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) outdoor championship, highlighted by a multi-record performance from
Xander Gottner.

RECAP
- Gottner kicked off the weekend on Friday, winning the 10,000-meter run in a new facility, championship, and conference record in 30:19.38, which currently ranks 36th nationally. Zach Zuzzio and Kolby Dax rounded the all-conference honors in the event, running 31:43.70 and 31:51.34, respectively. Sam McPeak also claimed top honors in a distance event on Friday, winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a new personal best 9:30.65, followed by Nolan Pinion in second in 9:37.18 and Cody Zenyuh in third in 9:40.40. Rounding out Friday's finals, William Tate finished second in the discus, tossing 45.94 meters.
- Adam Shaw kicked off Saturday's finals, winning 1,500-meter run in a new championship record 3:52.10. He also added an all-conference performance in the 800-meter run, finishing second in 1:55.56. Daniel Geerts led a massive 1-2 finish in the 110-meter hurdles, winning in 14.98, with Sam Sorenson in second in 15.14. Geerts followed that up with a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, running 55.61 for second place.
- Gottner led another placing stretch for the Raiders' distance events, finishing in second in the 5,000-meter run in a new school record time of 14:42.86, followed by Pinion in third in 15:08.98. In the shot put, Elijah Villa grabbed a third-place finish, tossing 14.93 meters.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will have one last opportunity to qualify for the national meet, coming on Thursday, May 15
th at the Augustana Midwest Twilight.
