CHICAGO – Opening up their indoor season, the MSOE men's track & field team headed down to the Windy City for the Phoenix Invitational, hosted by University of Chicago.
Jessa Alderman and
Josephine Jacklin opened the season with massive marks as the women finished second overall as a team.

RECAP
- Alderman tossed a long one to kick start her season, winning with a throw of 13.51 meters, currently ranking fifth nationally. Jacklin finished right behind her in second with a mark of 13.39 meters, ranking eighth nationally. Kylie Crum also tossed a top throw in the weight throw, marking 15.45 meters, which is currently 25th nationally.
- Alderman and Katrina Wawrzyn finished second and third in the weight throw with marks of 14.36 meters and 14.35 meters, while Wawrzyn added a third place finish in the shot put with 11.38 meters.
- On the track, Natasha Konop finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.58. In the jumps, Evelyn Horvat finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 9.82 meters, while Gillian McDaniel finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 4.88 meters.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will be idle next weekend before heading to Wisconsin-Whitewater for the Karl Schlender Invitational on Saturday, January 24
th. Field events are set to begin at 11:00 a.m. with running events to follow at 1:00 p.m.
