HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emma Schattschneider and Natalie Martinez got things started for MSOE (11-8, 5-2 NACC) as Schattschneider killed the first two points for the Raiders and then Martinez connected on back-to-back aces for an early 4-1 advantage. Wisconsin Lutheran (10-12, 4-3 NACC) took their first lead of the set at 6-5 before a kill from Notheisen got the Raiders back in the lead, eventually extending to 9-6. The Warriors would on a 7-1 run heading into the technical timeout to jump out to a 16-12 lead, not looking back to win the opening set 25-20.
- An early block from Schattschneider and Alyssa Rusch kicked start a massive set for the Raiders as they led 6-3 early before extending it to 18-12. After the Warriors cut it down to a four-point difference, Schattschneider found a massive rhythm, making four kills on a 7-1 run with Sydney Emineth knocking in set point to win 25-15. Notheisen found her rhythm in set three, making five kills and adding a block with Rusch on a 10-1 run to lead 15-6 at the technical timeout before cruising away to win 25-16.
- Set four saw a massive swing in momentum as the Warriors came out to a 7-0 run, extending to 9-1. Schattschneider led the charge to fight back into the set, connecting on four kills and a block with Emineth to cut it to 9-8. Another long run from the Warriors made it double-digits until just a few points later, Notheisen kick-started a 9-0 run to overtake the Warriors 23-22. Battling back and forth each having a chance at set point, the Warriors would come out on top to win 29-27 to force a fifth. Trading serves to open, a kill from Schattschneider started a small run to lead 4-1 and wouldn't have pressure until the Warriors tied things at nine. Rusch on a 3-0 run started it with a kill and ended it with a block from Notheisen as the Raiders wouldn't look back from there with Schattschneider putting the final nail in the coffin to win 15-12.
