GENEVA, Ill. – In high scoring affair against the number three nationally ranked team, the MSOE men's hockey team went on the road to defeat Aurora University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (9-11-2, 6-7-2 NCHA) set the tone early as just 2:52, Alex Thundercloud went up the side and cut back in for a backhand score to take an early 1-0 lead. Nearing the end of the first playing short-handed, Rylan Jockims drove right in with the puck to extend the lead to 2-0 at the first break.
- The short-handed magic struck again as making another penalty kill, Seth Bernard went coast to coast after a steal from Eddie Shepler to make it 3-0. Just minutes later, Aurora (18-4-0, 11-4-0 NCHA) would score two quick goals to cut it to 3-2. Jacob Bosse would bring the lead back up to two after taking the puck off the wall and headed down the right side, making it 4-2. The Spartans looked to escape the second trailing by one after adding a goal with 2:12 left, but a late powerplay would be successful for the Raiders as Cole Beilke hit a one-timer at the point to make it 5-3 after two.
- Charles Fink continued the scoring spree in the third as just 1:10 in, he skated away himself for quick hitter to the top left corner, making it 6-3. The Spartans would add on another goal minutes later but with just 10:38 left, Shepler rebounded Jockims shot bring it back to a three-goal advantage. The Spartans would cut the deficit once again, but Spencer Northway in net continued to step up, shutting them down for the remainder to seal it.
