Women's Wrestling Ties for 28th in Quad Cities Invite

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The MSOE women's wrestling team competed at the NCAA D3 Quad Cities Invite over the weekend, with Jackie Zuniga Rangel picking up a historic win for the Raiders in the penultimate tournament of their inaugural season.

RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – T-28th Place (3 team points)

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jackie Zuniga Rangel was the best of the day for the Raiders, picking up a win at 110 in her second match of the tournament, posting a first-round win via fall over Jo Orozco of Augsburg University.  Zuniga-Rangel nearly picked up another win in her next bout but came up just one point short as she fell to Briana Martinez from UW-Stevens Point in a 10-9 decision.
  • Arianna Vesey and Naomi Castillo-Posadas also competed in the Quad Cities, bowing out in the consolation round after dropping their opening bouts to opponents from Adrian College, Maine Maritime Academy, and Otterbein College.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will wrap up for the season on Thursday, March 5th, as the Red and White head to North Liberty, Iowa for the USA Wrestling Women's Collegiate Club Nationals.
