RANTOUL, Ill. – The MSOE baseball dropped a non-conference matchup with University of Wisconsin-Platteville down in Central Illinois Thursday as the Pioneers ran away with the game in the early innings.
RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
Wisconsin-Platteville - 19
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Platteville (6-2, 0-0 WIAC) set the tone early, blasting a homerun from their lead-off batter to eventually go up 7-0 after one. Three more would come across in the second to make it double digits before three more in the fourth to lead 13-0.
- MSOE (9-5, 0-0 NACC) got on the board in the fifth after Kyle Mayberry led off the inning with a walk and then raced around on a Christian Bosque single. Bosque just a batter later would streak home when AJ Le ripped one into right and a Pioneer miscue allowed him to come in and cut it to 13-2. The Pioneers answered those two runs in the bottom half, while scoring four more in the sixth to round out the game in seven.
