Raiders Swept by Stars in Home Opener

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE softball team hosted their first home games of the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, with the Dominican Stars sweeping the Red and White in their first games of 2026 at Raiders Field.

RESULTS

Dominican University – 3
MSOE RAIDERS - 0

Dominican University - 10
MSOE RAIDERS - 1

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • MSOE (3-13, 0-4 NACC) and Dominican (10-10, 4-2 NACC) were scoreless through the first four innings, with each team recording just one hit across the opening frames. A two-out solo homerun from the Stars in the top of the fifth would put Dominican ahead of MSOE.
    • The Raiders tallied their second hit of the game on a Rikka Ludvigson single in the sixth, but the MSOE rally would end before it got rolling, with the Stars padding their lead with a couple of insurance runs in the seventh to make it 3-0.  Jayda Nelson drew a walk and Kaitlyn DeNapoli came on to pinch run, looking to jumpstart a late rally from the Red and White.  DeNapoli would successfully swipe second base, but it was too little too late, as the Stars retired the Raiders in order from there to take the first leg of the doubleheader.
  • Game Two
    • In game two, Dominican would tally four runs in the top of the third inning including a three-run homerun, to jump in front of the Raiders.  The Stars would add another run in the top of the fourth while the Raiders got on the board in the bottom of the inning, courtesy of a Carlee Emery solo homerun as the junior hit a towering shot to left centerfield.  From there it was all Dominican, as the Stars crushed two more long balls, shortening the game as the Red and White fell 10-1 in five innings of play.

WHO'S ON DECK
