LEXINGTON, Ky. – The MSOE baseball team kicked off their weekend series with Transylvania University in a nail-biting finish as
AJ Le hits the go-ahead run in the top of ninth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (6-3, 0-0 NACC) showed off the baserunning skills early as Christian Bosque raced home on a wild pitch for the first run of the game. A batter later, Kyle Mayberry baited the Transylvania (4-4, 0-0 HCAC) catcher on a steal to allow Le to streak home for a 2-0 lead after one. The Pioneers used the same tactics in the bottom of the third, scoring on a first and third steal, cutting the deficit 2-1. Three runs would come across in the top of the fourth with Charlie Claas kicking it off after reaching on an error before capping it as he came across on a RBI groundout from Bosque, extending the lead 5-1.
- The Pioneers began late inning heroics, scoring a run in each the fifth and seventh, along with two in the eighth to tie the game at five. Jake Franks kicked off the ninth, drawing a full count walk before advancing over to second on the next at-bat. Le came up clutch, singling through the middle of the infield to score Franks to get the lead back 6-5. Graiden Liethen would finish things off in the bottom half, striking out two, including the final batter, to seal it.
