Men's Volleyball Magical Runs Ends in NACC Championship

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's volleyball saw their season end on Sunday in a three-set loss to Dominican University in the NACC championship.

RESULT
No. 1 MSOE RAIDERS – 0

No. 2 Dominican - 3

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MSOE (21-7, 12-0 NACC) got off to a fast start after Matthew Schultz and Parker Rings went back-to-back teaming up for blocks for a 5-1 lead. Dominican (22-5, 10-2 NACC) slowly trickled their way back in to tie the set at 12 before grabbing the slight back-and-forth trading of serves. After the Raiders grabbed the lead back after Rings and Hunter Carroll blocked at 21-20, the Stars rolled on a 5-1 run to win the set 25-22.
  • Things were tight from the start of set two as the Stars were the first to get back-to-back points at 7-5. A kill from Callan Harris tied it back at 7 with the Raiders grabbing the lead at 9-8 after Schultz killing a free ball. The Stars would come back to take a 12-9 lead and despite the Raiders tying thing up twice more, the Stars would pull away to win 25-18.
  • Set three saw similar shades as things were tightly contest early before the Stars lead 13-9 at the midway point. After the Stars built their lead up to seven, back-to-back kills from Seth Thomas brought it back down to five. Unfortunately, the Raiders push for a comeback was stalled as the Stars took the set 25-18.
