"Winning this award is a great honor" said Dopirak. "I'm very fortunate to have been selected for the award and I think it's a testament to all the work I've put both on the court and in the classroom. I'd like to thank my coaches, my teammates, and especially my family for always pushing me to be the best version of myself."
In his senior season, Dopirak averaged 26.1 points per game while shooting 51.6% from the field and 90% from the free throw line. On February 4
th, Dopirak eclipsed the 2,000 career points mark, finishing his career with 2,175 points, which is third in program history and second in conference history. Dopirak earned his fourth career first-team all-conference honor, along with being named conference player of the year.
"I could not be happier for Mason to receive this award" said head coach
Kevin Hurd. "His consistency, daily work ethic, and attention to detail is unmatched. However, his character is what separates him. Knowing him, he would be the first to give credit to his family, teammates, professors, and all of those who have helped him get to this point. He has been a leader for our team on and off the court and commits daily to the pillars of our program: unity, humility, passion, thankfulness, and servanthood. He is an excellent representative of his family, our men's basketball program, but more importantly MSOE as a whole"
