Men's Lax Closes Season in NACC Semifinals

MEQUON, Wis. – The MSOE men's lacrosse team squared off with No. 2 seed Concordia Wisconsin in the semifinals of the NACC Tournament on Saturday afternoon, in a rematch of last week's regular season finale.  The Raiders would fall to the Falcons in their second clash, as the Red and White's season came to an end up north.

RESULT
No. 3 MSOE RAIDERS – 9
No. 2 Concordia Wisconsin – 12

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MSOE (13–6, 8-3 NACC) fell behind CUW (18-1, 10-1 NACC) after a Falcons goal at the 12:51 mark of the first quarter, but the Raiders would respond in less than 60 seconds as Isaac Johnston found Andrew Toman for a point-blank goal to tie the game back up.  The Falcons would go on a run to close the quarter, recording five unassisted goals to put CUW ahead 6-1 after the first frame.  The Red and White would hold Concordia to just one goal in the second quarter, as the Raiders tallied a trio of goals before heading to halftime as Johnston, Case Roberts and Dawson Smith brought the score to 7-4 after two quarters.
  • Coming out of the break, the Falcons would record the first goal of the third quarter, before Smith punched back for the Raiders at the 6:03 mark, tallying his second goal of the game and bringing the score to 9-5 in favor of the Falcons.  The Raiders and Falcons would exchange two goals apiece down the stretch of the third, with the Red and White trailing 11-7 heading into the final frame.
  • After both teams were scoreless through a majority of the fourth quarter, the Raiders were able to tally a couple of late goals in the final two minutes, but time ran out on the Red and White's comeback, as MSOE was unable to exact revenge on CUW.
